I’m a history nerd who loves nature, photography and her dogs. I travel with 2 of my 4 dogs, Thor the GSD and Loki the husky. I have an obsession with visiting National Parks and wolves. I love the UK and visit as often as I can. The boys and I are currently focused on traveling in North America and I take them with me whenever possible.

Welcome and stick around for a while!

This was by far my favorite hike I’ve ever done in Rocky Mountain National Park. The hike features Bear Lake, Nymph Lake, and Dream Lake. If I had time I would have gone on to Emerald Lake too! ↟

📍 Holyrood Abbey, Edinburgh, Scotland, 2016 ↟

The story behind Holyrood Abbey goes something like, King David, went out hunting during the Feast of the Cross. And after being bucked off his trusty steed, came face to face with a disgruntled stag. ↟
↟
↟
The King noticed a crucifix between the stag’s antlers or a Holy Cross projected just as the stag backed away. Needless to say, the stag didn’t maul the King. Grateful, the King saw this as a purely spiritual event and founded Holyrood Abbey in that very area.

I’ve always been really fascinated by Mary Queen of Scots. Some see her as a murderer and a traitor while others believe she was a courageous martyr. I tend to lean towards the later. If you are also a fan of Mary Queen of Scots you can’t beat The Palace at Holyrood or Holyrood Abbey. ↟
↟
↟
After all, the abbey is where Queen Mary famously married the absolute waste of space Lord Darnley at 22. There is something to be said for the way she followed her heart. And it doesn’t hurt that the ruins of the abbey are stunningly beautiful! ↟
